The 8th Edition of the El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) is set to take place from October 16 to 24, 2025, in the vibrant coastal city of El Gouna, Egypt. As one of the region’s most prestigious cinematic events, GFF continues to showcase exceptional films from around the world, spotlighting the best in Arab and international cinema. The festival emphasises cultural exchange and industry development, fostering connections between emerging and established filmmakers.

This year’s lineup already includes 12 highly anticipated titles, representing a diverse selection of genres and voices. The festival features a rich program of screenings, panel discussions, workshops, and masterclasses designed to engage both film professionals and passionate audiences. Additionally, GFF’s industry platform, CineGouna, returns to support filmmakers with development funding, networking opportunities and professional mentorship.

Supported by key partners such as the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and the European Union in Egypt, the festival also hosts initiatives like the “Eish Short Film Competition” in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme. Notably, the festival fosters Egyptian and Arab cinema’s presence on the global stage, including a unified Egyptian pavilion at Cannes. The 8th edition promises an inspiring celebration of storytelling and innovation, further establishing El Gouna as a cultural hub.
